President's Letter - January 18, 2017

Fellow NIRI Charlotte Chapter Members,

Welcome to the NIRI Charlotte Chapter and happy New Year! It is my privilege and honor to again serve as your Chapter President for the 2017 program year. For those of you who I haven’t had the opportunity to meet personally, I’ve been a member of the Charlotte Chapter since 2012. I was initially nominated for the role as Treasurer, and then I had the opportunity to succeed Anita Booe as Chapter President in February 2016. I’m joined on the Board by a dedicated group of professionals that graciously volunteer their time to make our Chapter a success.

2017 Program Year

We are excited about what should be a terrific lineup of presentations and networking events in 2017. We’ll kick-off the year with an IRO-only breakfast networking event on January 27th hosted by Jim Storey at the Premier headquarters in Ballantyne, and then hold our first official program event on February 23rd with our annual Economic Outlook presentation (more details on these events will be communicated in the near future). As always, I encourage you to attend our programs, and I look forward to seeing each of you. Please spread the word about our Chapter and events, as we’re continuously looking to broaden our reach and expand our membership.

In addition, in 2017 we are not only dedicated to providing the Chapter with an improved and consistent schedule of events, but also improved and more consistent communications. To support this effort, our annual Chapter Sponsor, Q4, Inc., has graciously offered to renovate our Chapter website. A new and improved website will provide a current view of what’s happening at our Chapter, our calendar of events / program lineup with a much improved registration process, your Board’s contact information for any questions or concerns, and additional valuable resources to come. I’d like to personally thank Darrell Heaps and Tom Kirby from Q4, who have consistently supported our efforts as our Annual Sponsor, and for their continued support of NIRI Charlotte.

As always, we welcome your feedback into how we can provide more value to our members. Please feel free to contact me or my fellow Board members with any suggestions.

Thanks, and I look forward to an exciting and successful 2017!

Kevin Powers
