Archived President's Letter - August 10, 2018

Dear NIRI Charlotte Chapter Members and Friends,

One month from today we will kick off our 2018-19 program year from the same location as last year - the Lexus Dugout Suite at BB&T Ballpark, as our Charlotte Knights host the Durham Bulls. You won't see Kevin Costner behind home plate, but you will see Kevin Powers in our suite, who did a marvelous job as our previous chapter president. I am thankful to have his continued involvement and support as an at-large member of our new board. Speaking of, introducing your new NIRI Charlotte Chapter Board:

  • President - Roy Granato, President, Granato Creative Group, LLC
  • President-Elect & Programs Chair - Jim Ryan, Senior Director, Investor Relations, Curtiss-Wright Corporation
  • Treasurer - Sharon McGee, Vice President, Strategic Marketing and Corporate Development, Albemarle Corporation
  • Communications Chair - Dan Whalen, Investor Relations, CommScope Holding Company, Inc.
  • Membership Chair - Ben Krasinski, Investor Relations Manager, Premier, Inc.
  • At-Large Member - Kevin Powers, Senior Director of Communications, Campbell Snacks
  • At-Large Member - Kay Sharpton, Vice President of Investor Relations, Evertec, Inc.

There are two primary goals that will drive every decision we make for the chapter throughout the upcoming year.

  1. To advance the practice of investor relations.
  2. To provide you with professional development and networking opportunities.

Later this week, the new board will meet and begin planning for the 2018-19 program year. We will discuss creating a formal sponsorship program, developing a plan to drive attendance and membership, and begin discussions about our general events, including timing and topics. I would like for you to provide us with feedback on what you would like to get out of your membership. What topics are of interest to you? What would you like for us to do differently? Please email me your thoughts to [email protected].

I hope to see you at the ballpark on August 30th. If you did not come last year, you truly missed out on one of our most popular events ever.

Cheers!

Roy Granato
